MGA Stage Academies run regular Saturday schools with training for students between 8 and 16 years of age in Acting, Singing and Dancing. Our Academies aim to offer a professional level of training delivered by professional performers. Our aim is to provide the very best training available and for our students to learn and grow as performers and people through hard work, determination and most of all - fun! We DO NOT aim to open as many schools as possible in order to make as much money as possible from franchises. We aim to bring the very best of opportunities to each and every one of our students. "Quality, not Quantity" MGA Stage Academies aims to bring to Edinburgh the opportunities usually only associates with London based schools "training for the profession - from the profession" Our Concept: On stage or off stage, MGA Stage Academies enable young people to explore the world through imagination, co-operation, hard work, the discipline of performance and - most of all - fun. This exploration helps young people learn the skills essential to succeed in all their endeavors. Whatever the reason young people join MGA Stage Academies; an ambition to work professionally in the performing arts, a chance to meet new friends in an exciting environment, an opportunity to build self-confidence or simply something exciting to do during in their spare time - there is lots to be gained by everyone. Our Participants: MGA Stage Academies are aimed at young people between the ages of 8 and 18 and run parallel with local school terms. Our Saturday Academies run a 3-hour morning session starting at 10:00 and a 3-hour afternoon session starting at 13:30 (young people can attend either the morning or the afternoon) with classes in Acting, Singing and Dancing for three different age groups. Our Tutors and Academy Leaders Every member of our team joins us because of their desire to work with young people and to help them fulfill their artistic potential. They are all respected practitioners in their own areas of expertise. We believe young people respond better to youthful and energetic class leaders and our team is carefully selected not only for their specialist skills, but also for their personality, enthusiasm and ability to relate to young people. Our Academies: Our Academies each have 5 regular tutors. An Academy Principal from The MGA Company who overlooks the entire Academy, a School Leader whose responsibility it is to support the Tutors, Pupils and Parent /Guardians, and 3 specialist Tutors in Acting, Dancing and Singing. At the end of every 10-week term parents and guardians are welcomed into the academy to watch a presentation of the students work-in-progress. Written reports from the Tutors are available for each young person on request and awards are made for special acheivements.
