Designed to give students the best possible foundation in the performing arts the MGA Part-Time Theatre School strives to offer the very best training available for 11 to 18 year olds looking for a head start onto the professional stage, screen and into the broadcast media. With a successful Saturday Stage Academy, a London based Theatrical Agency representing professional clients working worldwide and some of the best links to the professional performing arts, we at The MGA Company think it’s vitally important that Edinburgh has somewhere for students to study professionally in Musical Theatre on a part-time basis. The Course: The Part-Time School is divided into three different maturity/ability groups (Foundation, Intermediate & Advanced) of no more than 16 students per class. Continual assessment will ensure students are placed in the most suitable classes throughout their training. Classes will include: Dance Department: Acting Department: Singing Department: * Offered twice a term to address individual vocal issues. Voice Department: Technical Department: Students will also be introduced to Theatre History, Professional Development and Performance Studies throughout the year. At The MGA Company we hold fast to the belief that students learn more in one hour of public performance than in 100 hours of classroom-based teaching. We therefore strive to offer students as many opportunities as possible to get in front of a live audience. Part-Time students in the advanced class are automatically accepted onto the Fierce Performance Squad and will have their Fierce tuition fees paid for by The MGA Company Scholarship Scheme. Classes are scheduled as follows: Tuesday Evenings: 17:30 to 20:30 Fierce Performance: Sunday Evenings: 18:00 to 21:00 Term dates for the 2009/10 academic year are yet to be confirmed. Our Facilities: The MGA Part-Time Theatre School has some of the best facilities in Scotland at its disposal. It is based at The Music Box (Stevenson College Edinburgh) offers excellent practice, recording and performance facilities to musicians, actors and dancers including: Dance Studio
